Where is your office?
Move Forward Counseling and Coaching’s Atlanta office is located on the fifth floor of the Triumph Building, next to Delta Airlines Headquarters.
100 Hartsfield Center Parkway Suite 500 Atlanta, GA 30354
If I don’t live in Georgia, can we still work together?
YES!! I have clients around the world! If you speak English, have access to the internet, and are ready to change your life… schedule a video session!
To schedule a video session:
- Go to https://moveforward.clientsecure.me
- Click “I’m a New Client”
- Scroll down and select “Online Therapy”
- Select “Virtual Office” to schedule a session.
Since I am licensed in the State of Georgia, I provide traditional counseling services only to Georgia residents. However, coaching services are provided to everyone.
Do you offer in-home or concierge services?
Yes. Contact me for details.
How long are your sessions?
Sessions can be scheduled for:
- (One hour) 60 minutes (50-minute session, plus 10 minutes for therapist’s notes),
- (Two hours) *120 minutes (110-minute session, plus 10 minutes for therapist’s notes)
*When scheduling at the office, I recommend that couples schedule at least a two-hour/120-minute
session on their first visit. It allows each person to share without feeling pressed for time.
What are your hours?
My hours are flexible and tailored to fit your schedule.
How much does a session cost?
Do you offer any packages or bundles?
How do I pay?
A form of payment is required to schedule your appointment. You will be asked to provide it when you’re completing your online paperwork.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance. Sessions require an out of pocket payment. The payment will be debited from the card you have on file just before the beginning of your session.
I am an out of network provider though. That means, if you have met your deductible and have out of network benefits, you are eligible to receive a partial reimbursement of your session fee.
Check with your insurance provider to determine if you have out of network benefits
What would make someone pay out of pocket for a session instead of using their insurance?
- For an insurance plan to cover services, the treatment must be “medically necessary.” This means that you must receive a diagnosis that can remain on your medical record. A diagnosis on your medical record could possibly increase your life insurance premiums. At times having a diagnosis is necessary and can be beneficial for obtaining other services; however, there are some circumstances where individuals and families want to avoid this.
- Some insurance plans limit the number of visits you can have per year; or make you split a limited number of visits between speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Some plans only give you a set number of sessions per diagnosis, regardless of how much time you may need to make progress in therapy.
- The decision of whether you qualify for therapy, how often you need it, and how long you receive it needs to be yours to make and not the insurance company’s decision.
- Insurance companies are corporations that often treat people like numbers and not vibrant human beings. They do not have the education, experience, and expertise that clinicians have. It’s troubling for insurance companies to stand in the way of clients obtaining the best possible care in therapeutic settings.
- Many plans pay clinicians an insulting rate and have been known to refuse payment altogether.
- For these reasons, I do not accept insurance. I encourage my clients to strongly consider paying out of pocket, whenever possible.
Do you offer superbills?
Yes! They are available upon request.
What is your cancellation policy?
You matter and our sessions are very important to me. I hope you feel the same.
If you must, kindly cancel your session at least 24 hours before your scheduled session so that someone else has an opportunity to fill the vacant slot.
Sessions that are not cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled session will be charged the full session rate.
Are there any forms to fill out before my session?
Yes! All forms are to be completed online. A link to fill out paperwork will be emailed to you once you schedule a session.
All documents must be completed at least 24 hours before your first appointment.
